Fall is here. While the temperatures are still a tad bit too high, fall activities have started. This is the perfect time of year to get out and enjoy festivals, hikes, apple picking and more around Georgia. Here are our top picks for October family friendly activities in Georgia.

Soapbox Derby October 1 from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Food vendors, a beer tent for the adults, a bake sale everyone will love and lots of cars to watch race. Head to Decatur to checkout over 100 cars. There’s live music too.

Pumpkin Festival at Stone Mountain Park Sept 30 – October 30

Family shows, storytelling, costume parties and there is a pie eating contest too. This one is a must visit for kids of all ages.

Six Flags Halloween October 1-31

Enjoy the theme park plus day time trick-or-treating with the littles all dressed up. Pumpkin painting will be fun. Depending on your kids age, the ghosts and ghouls come out for Fright Fest once the sun goes down.

Atlanta Parent Family Festival October 8

A petting zoo, pony rides, food, family activities and more held at Mercer University in Atlanta

Apple Festival in Elijah October 8-9

A parade, antique car show, crafts, food and of course apples galore.

Little 5 Points Halloween Festival & Parade October 15 

The costume parade starts at 4pm. There will be vendors, live music and more before the parade.
